How ITLoot verifies offers

Every listing on this site was read by a person before it appeared. Here is exactly what our labels mean — and what they do not.

Vendor incentives go out of date faster than almost any other kind of offer. A campaign ends, a landing page is pulled, a $200 gift card quietly becomes $100. So the useful question is never “does this offer exist?” but “when did somebody last look, and what did they see?” Those two facts are on every page here.

Three separate questions

Most listing sites collapse status into one word. We keep three apart, because they answer different things and merging them is how a reader ends up trusting a claim nobody actually made.

Lifecycle — does it exist and can it be claimed? active, expired, removed, or unknown when we genuinely cannot tell.
Source — where we learned about it The vendor's own page, an ad, a social post, an event page, or a report from a reader. This is provenance. It says nothing about whether the offer is still good.
Verification — how we know The strength of our evidence, described below.

What “verified” means here

Unverified We have seen the offer somewhere, but nobody has confirmed it in a current vendor ad or on the vendor's own page. We do not publish offers in this state.
Advertised The reward is explicitly stated in the vendor's own advertisement or official social post, but the page you land on does not repeat it. This is common — vendors routinely advertise an incentive and then send you to a generic demo form. We list these, we link the ad as evidence, and we say so on the listing. Advertised is not verified.
Verified live A person opened the vendor's own page on the date shown and the offer was on it. That is all it means. It is not a promise that you will qualify, that the amount is still right, or that you will be paid.
Payout verified Somebody actually received the reward and we have credible evidence of it. This is a much stronger and much rarer claim. We have not confirmed a payout on any current listing, and we would rather say so than blur the two.

Verified live and payout verified are not the same claim, and we never merge them. A vendor advertising a reward and a vendor paying one are different events, and only you can tell us the second one happened.

Tell us when we are wrong

If an offer is dead, the amount has changed, or you were turned away, email hello@itloot.com. Reports go into a review queue — a single report never silently changes a listing, but it does put it at the front of the re-check queue.
